Karate Seminar & 2nd DAN | Day 67

Hello, everyone! It's a long time since I last updated my little blog. Right now, I'm listening to "Love's just a feeling" by Lindsey Stirling while I'm typing here but in the end of this blog post, I will have listened to a whole EP. It doesn't take 5 minutes to write this post, that's why I don't have time to chill out here.

A lot of things have happened in my life since last time... but I think I want to dedicate each one of those moments in different blog posts and not just all in one. So, today I'll be talking about....

KARATE!

The weekend that just passed by (since we're talking about the weekend, let me tell you that now I'm listening to I Feel it coming by the weeknd ) (oh and I love the video.. It has some good 80s vibes in it.. totally into it). Anyway, I changed the topic. Let's go back.

This weekend there was this big seminar of Yamada Ha Shito Ryu Shukokai Karate-Do that happened here in Heraklion in my homeland which was amazing. I really like Karate, it's one of my hobbies. I do Karate since I was  4 years old, so I have been doing Karate for 13,5 years. It's a really long time. That's why I think it was amazing that I was given the chance to participate in such a huge seminar like this. Senseis Tsutomu Kamohara, Denis Casey and Tony Grainger taught a lot of things but what is really going to be engraved in my mind was the aura that I was feeling around those people. It was like all of the problems would go away just when I was talking to them. Their kindness, maturity, philosophy, friendliness, humbleness is what keeps this karate system alive. I feel such an honor to have met them at such a young age. My father met sensei Tsutomu Kamohara when he was in his 40s and I got to meet him when I was 4-5 years old. It's amazing.
These people have values, discipline and even though they've achieved so many things in life, they're beyond humble. Every time I meet with senseis of our karate system I get to come closer to who I want to be. I'm so thankful to have met them, talked to them, communicated with them and see a whole new part of this world - a kind, respectful and meaningful side of this world.

Do you want to know the greatest thing?
I passed the exams for the 2nd DAN!
I cannot believe it.

I feel so thankful of that, it's really an amazing experience to practice Karate in front of such masters and all I can say is "thank you". This is all I feel. I couldn't be more thankful for the chance that I was given to be a part of a seminar like this.

That's all for today. I promise I'll update you sooner! :)

Quote of the day: Happy mind, Happy life!

Peace, Lionder
